Lexi & Chris Huggins Bass Lake Wedding

Lexi & Chris Huggins Bass Lake Wedding

June 25, 2015

Bass Lake Park - 900 Bass Lake Road,  Holly Springs, NC

Bass Lake Park provides a natural elegance for your special event. The park’s facilities and grounds are a perfect blend of sophistication and the simplicity of nature.

The deck was all set up for the ceremony

The groom stands with me awaiting his beautiful bride!

Lexi’s father Helmut walks her down the aisle to her future husband
And the ceremony begins

As I speak the words, the love flows from the hands of this couple so committed to each other.

Chris slides Lexi’s wedding band on her finger.

Lexi returns the love by placing his ring on his finger.
The guests really respond positively at promising to helping Chris & Lexi hold steadfast to their vows.

Now we begin the 4 Ribbon Handfasting ceremony.
Each of the 4 ribbons used were in different colours. Green for earth, white for air, red for fire and blue for water.
I ask them a question as I place each ribbon between their fingers.

The first ribbon in the colour Green for Earth is placed between their fingers. I ask,
Will you honor and respect one another,
and seek to never break that honor?
At the third ribbon being placed between their fingers I ask
“Will you share the burdens of each so that your spirits may grow in this union?”

After the 4th ribbon in blue was placed between their fingers it was time to tie them all together is a knot. I say,
Lexi & Chris, as your hands are bound together now,
so your lives and spirits are joined in a union of love and trust.
It was a touching ceremony and the couple will keep the knotted ribbons as a keepsake.

The first Kiss is always so romantic

Here I present the newly married couple to their guests

Happily walking down the aisle as
Mr. & Mrs. Huggins!

I had a wonderful time working with this amazing couple throughout the ceremony writing process and it's performance.
They are a super couple!

  1. I’ve had a couple of events at this location. The only thing that would have made these guys from Chicago wedding venues better would have been better communication in the earlier planning stages, but it all worked out great in the end.
